Working on the independent Michigan filmed Christian movie “The Lying Machine  was a real learning experience for Donna Frazier..

Frazier, the 60-year-old grandmother of seven and retired pre-school aide from Rochester Hills Christian School started acting almost a decade ago, performing in community theater. When she saw an ad for “One Nation Under God” — the movie’s original name — she sent in her information. Joseph Zabrosky, who heads up Howell-based studio Our Father Productions, which released “The Lying Machine,” called her to audition for Patricia, the female lead.

“This was my first movie. … Movies are not filmed in order. I found that out quickly,” Frazier says, laughing

The plot of “The Lying Machine,” which Zabrosky starred in, directed wrote, edited and produced, shows how a homeschooled boy changes a public school by teaching the teachers about America’s founding fathers and the nation’s Christian heritage.

The movie, which was shot primarily in Saline, includes a cameo by former WDIV-Channel 4 reporter Mike Wendland.
