Coming off the success of “40 Nights,” the first installment in the biblical “Quest Trilogy” – director Jesse Low was seeking his next story to tell under the Collective Development Inc. banner. (www.cdiproductions.com) The Michigan-based production company had unsuccessfully tried to launch a Michigan-based western years ago during the WGA writers strike. Insecurity over the stability of the Michigan tax incentive helped to put that film on the shelf for good. But the idea of an 1800’s Michigan-based story persisted and when Shane Hagedorn (Ashes of Eden) started looking for the right vehicle to showcase himself as a leading man the concept was re-examined.
“Shane (Hagedorn) is a true outdoors man – him tapping into this genuine characteristic makes for a powerful, believable character.” – DJ Perry, CEO Collective Development Inc.
It has been confirmed that DJ Perry, fresh off playing Jesus in “40 Nights” will be co-starring alongside Hagedorn. Melissa Anschutz (Ashes of Eden, Bestseller) is also confirmed to be in the cast as well as Anthony Hornus (Wicked Spring) and Dean Teaster (Ghost Town). The film will use several artists from in-state and plans to release late in 2017.
