Let’s all say”Happy Birthday, Tim,” to comedian Tim Meadows.  Born in Highland Park, Michigan, on this day February 5, 1961,  Tim is an actor and comedian best known as one of the longest-running cast members on Saturday Night Live, where he appeared for ten seasons.

Studying television and radio broadcasting at Wayne State University,  Meadows.began performing improvisational comedy at the Soup Kitchen Saloon.  His start in show business was in Chicago as a member of The Second City comedy troupe alongside future star Chris Farley.   The two of them would become SNL cast members.

On SNL, Meadows often spoofed famous personalities including O. J. Simpson, Michael Jackson, Tiger Woods, Oprah Winfrey and Erykah Badu.  He would later develop the character Leon Phelps, “The Ladies’ Man” by whom he would become identified.  The character was adapted into a 2000 film, The Ladies Man,  in which this perpetually  horny talk show host who falsely believed himself to be the living definition of what women search for in a man attempts to find love and a suitable outlet for his beloved radio program.

Meadows has since appeared in numerous feature films and TV shows, and  continues to perform improv in Chicago and Los Angeles, most frequently at venues such as the ImprovOlympic and Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.

Today Tim Meadows is 56 years old.
