THRILLER! CHILLER! THURSDAY

Thriller! Chiller! presents Michigan Movie Night
featuring Local: The Series

Thursday, 10/25 at 8 pm
“Local” is a science fiction anthology series comprised of four original episodes centered around alternate realities of West Michigan and the surrounding regions.

Come check out what four of our local West Michigan filmmakers have created in these 4 episodes:

“Abandoned” – A couple becomes fascinated with a painting of a local abandoned home but the opportunity to tour the actual home turns into a nightmare of an open house.

“Enter Blue, Exit Red” – Lydia and Jack are a young couple on the lam who stop in Grand Rapids for a night. The next morning, Jack is gone, and Lydia must now venture into this unknown city as a wanted fugitive to search for him.

“Cave Drawings” – In a society where art has been absent for generations, an office worker’s random doodling shocks and inspires coworkers who have never seen ‘art’ before but find themselves feeling strangely moved by the crude, primitive, and unsophisticated sketches.

“The People Eater” – Henry Knox is heading out for a date with his ex-wife but he doesn’t expect that the drive there will become a macabre carnival ride through his past.

THRILLER! CHILLER! FRIDAY
Thriller! Chiller! Presents Nicholas Hartman’s “Chapel of Ghouls” Art Show

 SHOWING DURING FESTIVAL HOURS 10/23-10/27

Artist Reception FRIDAY 10/26 AT 6:30 PM

We’re proud to add this new dimension to the Thriller! Chiller! experience. We think you’ll all enjoy Chapel of Ghouls, as an art experience similar to the way many filmmakers in our festival use their art to work out and express personal and cultural anxieties.

Is horror a cathartic experience that helps you face your real life fears? If so, then this art show is definitely for you.

Description of Nicholas Hartmans’ work

Nicholas Hartman is an artist  who copes with his personal struggles with a crippling necrophobia (fear of death), anxiety, panic attacks, and hypochondria by expressing his feelings of darkness through the representation of ghouls. He releases them onto a canvas and out of his body and mind through the mediums such as watercolor, acrylics, paper mâché, and video.
