Judy Greer, originally from Detroit, Michigan and fellow Michigander, Keegan-Michael Key, born in Southfield, Michigan, will join John Cena, (born anywhere else but Michigan), in the family comedy “Playing With Fire.” Also in the cast are John Leguizamo, and Brianna Hildebrand.
Greer has been set, and Key is in final negotiations for this Paramount Players project about wildfire fighters that spend Christmas weekend at the station taking care of three rambunctious kids they rescued.
Andy Fickman (She’s the Man) will direct. Dan Ewen wrote the original spec with Matt Lieberman (The Christmas Chronicles, The Addams Family) handling the most recent screenplay.
Todd Garner and Sean Robins will produce via Broken Road Productions. Matt Dines is overseeing for the studio.
Paramount has set a March 20, 2020 date for the family comedy.
