LANSING, Mich. – April 23, 2021 – PRLog — As casting continues for Collective Development Incorporated’s WWII home front drama, ‘Silent Night In Algona’ (Inspired by Actual Events), two award-winning artists have joined the ensemble.
Writer, actor, producer, director Shane Hagedorn (‘Wild Faith’, ‘Lost Heart’), a longtime colleague at CDI, has been cast in the 1944 drama set in Algona, Iowa (where a German POW camp was built by the U.S. Army), as Provost Marshall Klein.
And Christine Marie, an award-winning actress, comedienne, and voice-over artist out of metro Detroit, who is credited with more than two dozen films, will portray ‘Miss Valentine,’ the local ‘schoolmarm with charm.’
‘Silent Night In Algona,’ a historical drama (written by actor-producer DJ Perry, who is also CDI’s CEO), takes place from Fall thru Christmas Eve 1944. It tells the story of a small Iowa town and how the construction of the German POW camp affected the inhabitants with ‘the enemy in their midst.’

His turn as Arch Angel Gabriel in CDI’s ‘The Quest Trilogy’ (Forty Nights, Chasing the Star, The Christ Slayer) was powerful. But it was a lead performance as ‘Emmett’ in CDI’s 1870s drama, ‘Wild Faith,’ that showcased the range he brings to each role.
Mr. Hagedorn, who directed CDI’s upcoming dramedy, ‘Best Years Gone,’ was nominated Best Actor for ‘Wild Faith’ at the Burbank International Film Festival and the International Christian Film Festival (Orlando), where ‘Wild Faith’ earned Best Picture honors.

For Christine Marie – known to audiences for memorable supporting roles in a range of characters – ‘Silent Night In Algona’ will be her fifth turn with CDI. She was circus owner ‘Albena’
in ‘Wild Faith,’ ‘Sabina’ in ‘The Christ Slayer,’ ‘Dr. Keller’ in ‘Man’s Best Friend’ and ‘Verna Howard’ in ‘Lost Heart.’ All award-winning films.
The theater, TV, and film veteran who is a musician (guitar) and 2nd soprano, is also a certified trainer and is the holder of 12 Michigan powerlifting records. On her 4-foot-10, 100-lb. frame.
Christine’s passion away the screen is volunteering. She founded and runs the non-profit, ‘Food Runners’ (dedicated to helping area soup kitchens obtain excess food from restaurants)
She also works as an ‘outreach volunteer’ with ‘All Worthy of Love’ and ‘Night Angels’ (in a mission getting exploited women off the streets and into restorative care).
